4 people drown, 9 missing after flashflood washes away shops near Gaurikund in Uttarakhand

Rudraprayag, August 4
Four people died and nine are missing after a sudden flood washed away three shops near Daat Puliya, close to Gaurikund on the route to Kedarnath. This information was given by officials on Friday.
The Chief Minister, Pushkar Singh Dhami, went to the Disaster Control room in the secretariat to see how things were going. He told them to work faster to help the people and save them in that place.
“He said we should warn everyone in areas where there might be a flood because the water levels in rivers and streams are rising. He also told officials to help people move away from places where landslides may happen. ”
Four bodies have been found, and the search is still happening to find the missing people, according to Rudraprayag District Magistrate Saurabh Gaharwar.
A group of people from Nepal who transport pilgrims to a temple in the Himalayas is missing.
The stores, which were next to a strong Mandakini river, got carried away by the floodwater that came from higher ground. The flash flood happened late at night on Friday because of the heavy rain.
Gaurikund is around 16 kilometers away from the temple in the Himalayas.
Members of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) started helping and saving people, according to Circle Officer Vimal Rawat.
Officials said that heavy rains and boulders falling from the hillsides are making it difficult for relief and rescue operations.
The government recently gave out a list of people who are missing, including the ones who have died in the incident.
Officials said that the missing people are Vinod (26), Mulayam (25), Ashu (23), Priyanshu Chamola (18), Ranbir Singh (28), Amar Bohra, Anita Bohra (his wife), Radhika and Pinki Bohra (their daughters), and Prithvi Bohra (7), Jatil (6), and Vakil (3) (their sons).
